Physiotherapy is a healthcare profession concerned with the evaluation and restoration of the function and performance of the human body.

There are many reasons to seek physiotherapy. Here are some of the more common ones:
- Injuries including concussion, sprains & strains, falls, etc
- Chronic pain & degenerative conditions like arthritis & multiple sclerosis
- Maintaining strength & independence throughout retirement
- Rehabilitation after major medical incidents like heart attack, stroke, or surgeries

The process is different for everyone, but in general here's what you can expect:
- We will take a detailed history of your health
- We will then examine and assess your physical condition
- We will work with you to formulate a treatment plan that address your needs and goals - then begin treatment!

What Are The Treatments Like?
Again, it's different for everyone! There are four options for treatment, and your treatment plan will be customized to your situation.

Treatment options include:
- Manual therapies like muscle release and joint mobilization which restore your body's function and mobility
- Pain control therapies like electrical nerve stimulation, acupuncture, ultrasound, and others
- Rehabilitative exercises and stretches to build strength and restore healthy body movement patterns
- Prescription of tools and assistive devices to protect you and accelerate your recovery, including custom orthotics and braces

Orthotics and Brace Fitting

Your foot, ankle, knee, hip, back - all can be helped with the use of custom-fitted orthotic insoles.

Knee braces are absolutely essential safety devices for recovering from knee injuries including ligament tears. They also can help keep an arthritic knee moving without pain until replacement surgery.

Massage Therapy

There are tremendous benefits to be achieved through regular massage therapy treatments from a Registered Massage Therapist. Whether your need is to have a moment of relaxation, reduce muscle tension or attain relief from chronic pain, a therapeutic massage can enhance your overall sense of emotional and physical well-being.

Pilates & Rehab

Pilates consists of low-impact flexibility and muscular strength and endurance movements. Pilates emphasizes proper postural alignment, core strength and muscle balance.

Pilates routine generally includes exercises that promote core strength and stability, muscle control and endurance, including exercises that stress proper posture and movement patterns and balanced flexibility and strength.

Naturopathic Medicine

The goal of Naturopathic medicine is to identify the underlying cause of a disease or condition, rather than simply medicating the symptoms. We use a number of tools and have various approaches to tailoring our treatment plans to the patient before us. Treatments may include acupuncture, dietary and health counseling, supplementation, and botanical and chinese medicine, among other interventions.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture reduces pain, speeds tissue healing, and can be used to help regulate hormonal balance.
